A doctor at the newly launched Chong Khneas Health Center, in Chong Khneas, Siem Reap, administers a vaccine to a child in December 2012.

A fundamental intervention proven to prevent morbidity and mortality among children is immunization. Effective and timely immunization contributes greatly to the positive health and development of children. RACHA supports health center staff and district/provincial health professionals who organize community outreach activities in remote villages every three months. During these events, families in communities that have difficulty accessing routine care and services have the opportunity to immunize their children with essential vaccinations to promote healthy development. Some of the immunizations available include vaccines against Tuberculosis (TB), Polio, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Tetanus, Hepatitis B, and Measles. RACHA plays a critical role in supervising the immunizations and ensuring compliance with national guidelines. While RACHA is not directly involved in immunization, we provide the logistical support to ensure the effective and successful coverage of children with essential immunizations.
